Give it to God

Give it to God
written by Brooklyne

Give it to God
No matter big or small
Give it to God
No matter short or tall

Give it to God
No matter wide to deep
Give it to God
No matter shallow or steep

Give it to God
No matter heavy or light
Give it to God
No matter dim or bright

Give it to God
No matter thick or thin
Give it to God
No matter where or when

Give it to God
No matter high or low
Give it to God
No matter fast or slow

Give it to God
No matter the circumstance
Give it to God
He'll give you a second chance

So, no matter what it is
Give it to God!

Psalm 55:22
"Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the
righteous to be moved."

We all struggle with giving it to God, whatever the case may be. God wants us to let go and cast our burdens on Him, because He will sustain us. So, what are some ways we can do this? How do we step back and let God take control of everything? Lets talk in the comments below!
P.S. If you read my Liebster Tag post, then you might want to know that this picture is my favorite photo I was describing;-).

  1. Great post, Brooklyne! And beautiful poem :). We should give it to God, no matter how important or maybe insignificant it may seem. It’s hard to give it all to Him and trust Him with it... I struggle with this at times.
    Thanks for sharing this!

  2. I'm glad you liked this poem! I struggle with this too. But God wants us to come to him for rest and to let Him handle things. Sometimes life gets so stressful and crazy that we forget to do Let Go and Let God. Matthew 11:28-30. Thanks for the comment!

  3. Thanks for this post! There really is nothing we can't give to God! The photo is nice too - I see why it's your favourite! :)

Hmm, that's a great question - it's one thing to know we ought to give something to God, and another to actually live it. I know for me it's often thoughts or worries I have to give to God, and something I've found helpful is finding a verse or two that relate to the situation and just dwelling on them. Every time the negative thought comes along, start thinking about the verse instead. Also, prayer is really powerful - even talking to God about how I don't want to give something to Him, and letting Him work on my heart. Anyway, what do you think are some practical ways to give it to God?

  4. Thanks for reading! This poem seems simple but to me it is pretty deep.

Giving it to God is something that we should do daily, not just every once in a while when we feel extra spiritual, or when things are going our way. Fully giving it to Him is surrendering ALL things to God. This is the good times AND the struggles, this is when you feel spiritual AND when you don't, this is when things are going your way AND when they aren't.

This is hard for me, because I like a plan. And most of the time, God is asking me to trust Him for the next step. He wants me to let go. To give it to him. ALL of my thoughts, worries, plans, and time. Because I think that when I do give it to God, He can open doors I never even thought of knocking on. He can lift my burdens, and give me peace instead of the worry. I'm still trying to learn this but not only that, I also want to practice it in life. Learning and practicing are too very difficult things.

So, I think that those two, reading the Bible and praying, are great ways to let go and trust Him! I think that if I could do this more, I would be taking the steps in the right direction. Even if they are baby steps, I want to continue to strive to Give it to God. Besides reading the Bible and praying, I think also we have to CHOOSE to give it to God. It is a choice. It might even be a mindset, a way of thinking.
