The Trust Rope

The Trust Rope
Written by Brooklyne

Sometimes I view my trust in God as a rope
It stretches from God to me
And it is what I cling to for hope

My "trust rope" might grow taunt or even fray
It might take all my strength to hang on
But I have to remember to trust and obey

Having trust means to rely
Relying in God for everything can be hard
But God is patent and wants us to try

Our God is so great and just
He is our Rock and Fortress
In Him I put my trust!

Since I didn't write a poem last week, I am sharing one with you now.
Blogging is flexible like that, right? :)
I wrote this poem when I was thirteen or fourteen years old. It might not be the best written or rhyming poem, but just read the words. I think we all can be reminded that we can have hope in our trust rope.
I am at a place in my life that it seems as if everything is happening at once, that everything is changing and moving so fast. I can hardly keep up with it all. But that's where I go wrong. It's not up to me to keep up with it all, it's up to me to trust Him with it all.
For me, trusting is hard, because that means letting go.
Letting go of the worries, the fears, the stress.
Letting go is not as easy as it sounds, because you have to choose to let go. Giving God everything and trusting is a struggle for me, and I am no where close to having it figured out. I am trying, and I am learning, but that is where I am at. My Papa says sometimes, "If you are at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on tighter."

Have you ever felt like you are at the end of your rope? What are some ways that you deal with stress? Because, I know by experience, chocolate doesn't fix problems! How can we strengthen our "Trust Rope?" Thank you for reading, and lets talk in the comments!

P.S. Sorry my picture is blurry! Oh well... :D

  1. Beautiful!

The end of the rope feeling is one I am unfortunately familiar with, trusting Him is so important, but as you said, hard.

Also, who says chocolate doesn't fix problems???? (jk). XD

    Great post!

    1. Thank you for reading!

Going through hard times like these will only make us stronger. And I hope that through it all, we are strengthening our trust rope!

Haha! I wish it did! Like seriously though, I have been eating a LOT of chocolate lately! It has to stop! :)

      Thank you!

  2. Whenever I feel at the end of my rope, I like to just close my eyes, pray, and take everything one step at a time. Singing a Psalm usually helps keep me focused - both on the task at hand, and on the Lord!

    1. Taking things one step at a time is huge! If we don't, things get so overwhelming.

      Thanks for commenting, Julian!

  3. Great post! Though chocolate is super yummy, it doesn't fix life problems or relieve stress, really! :) I usually go on and on and talk to God about whatever is causing me stress or whatnot, but I also talk to my mom or a friend. I like your poem! :D

I know, chocolate might help momentarily, but in the long run it doesn't fix the problems. Only God can give us what we need, whether it is peace, confidence, joy, or you name it!
Thank you for your input! I loved hearing your thoughts!

  5. Thank you for reading, Micaiah!
Gods got it, He only asks us to trust in Him. I'm reminded of the verse in the Bible that talks about worry. Matthew 6:34.
God knows everything and it's up to us to trust Him with everything!

    1. I am so glad you read this poem when you needed to hear this. God's timing is always perfect! :)
Change is hard. Especially in the unknown, because that means we have to trust God even if we don't know what will happen next. Just keep reminding yourself that Gods got it under control. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows the paths each of us will take. And He will never leave us or forsake us on those paths.
Thank you for stopping by, Paige!

  9. We can trust God by letting Him carry stuff that we can't understand just like Corrie Ten Boom`s father said, "Some knowledge is too heavy...you cannot bear it...your Father will carry it until you are able."

    1. Yes! God is willing to carry our burdens if we only lift them up to him. <3
